We were recently contacted by a client, querying why a number of searches to their website had a “not set” flag in Google Analytics.
Having investigated why this was happening we found that this was down to certain adverts being pointed at URLs which were then being internally directed to another page in the client website.
This wouldn’t normally be a problem but the original landing page and the new redirected one used different capitalisation rules (small text on the original URL, Title Case on the new ones)
Apparently (and this was a first for me), this breaks Analytics, so in the data analysis this returns a “not set” result in terms of the keywords.
